Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining

CPC31220 — Gain the practical skills to install and finish plasterboard walls, ceilings, partitions and fire-rated systems in modern construction.

Overview

The Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining (CPC31220) is a trade qualification for wall and ceiling liners — the interior specialists who transform framed structures into finished internal spaces. The course covers fixing standard and wet-area plasterboard, battens, fibre cement board and cornices; mixing compounds and hand-finishing joints to recognised levels of finish; and installing bulkheads, partitions, suspended ceilings and passive fire-rated wall systems.

Delivered face-to-face at our Brisbane and Gold Coast campuses, the program combines structured theory — plan reading, measurement, safe work at heights — with extensive practical installation and finishing work, so students develop both speed and finish quality. Elective units extend into insulation and acoustic systems, drywall fault rectification and mechanical sanding, matching the way modern lining contracts are actually delivered.

Interior lining is a high-volume trade across Australia's residential and commercial building sectors, and graduates leave the course with job-ready installation and finishing skills sought by lining contractors and builders alike.
