Apply Now →CPC31920 — Master the craft of manufacturing and installing joinery — doors, windows, stairs and architectural components — using both traditional techniques and computer-controlled machinery.
The Certificate III in Joinery (CPC31920) is a trade qualification for joiners who manufacture and install timber and timber-product building components — including doors, windows, frames, stairs, handrails and architectural fittings — in workshop and on-site environments.
The program develops precision workshop skills across the full production cycle: interpreting plans and setting out, processing materials on static machines, operating computer-controlled machinery, manufacturing and assembling joinery components, and installing finished work to trade standard. A strong stair-building stream runs through the course, from manufacturing straight-flight stair components through to designing, setting out, assembling and installing complete stairs and handrailing.
Delivered face-to-face at our Brisbane and Gold Coast campuses, the course pairs classroom theory with substantial hands-on workshop practice. Graduates are equipped for roles in joinery workshops, shopfitting and stair manufacturing, with skills that complement carpentry and open pathways into broader construction careers.
Course fees vary by intake and payment plan. For the current fee schedule, payment options and any applicable material fees, please contact our Admissions team at admin@empower.edu.au or call 1300 000 342. International students should also review the fee and refund information provided in their Letter of Offer.
Graduates are prepared for skilled joinery and manufacturing roles in workshops and on construction sites.
Graduates may broaden their trade base with CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry, or progress to CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (both offered at Empower International College).
