Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design

Overview

The RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design prepares students for senior roles in the civil construction industry. This qualification covers the skills and knowledge required to manage civil works design processes, apply safe design principles, lead project teams, and establish quality systems.

Students will gain practical competencies in motorway and interchange design, traffic analysis, project management, and risk management — equipping them for careers as senior designers, draftspersons, and technical leaders within the construction sector.

The program is delivered face-to-face over 104 weeks, comprising 80 weeks of training and assessment plus 24 weeks of scheduled holidays, and consists of 5 core units and 7 elective units.

Entry Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age at the time of enrolment
• Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent qualification
• IELTS overall score of 6.0 (test taken within the last 2 years); accepted alternatives include PTE Academic score of 50, or Cambridge Advanced (CAE) score of 169
• Evidence of completion of at least 5 years of study in an English-speaking country, OR successful completion in Australia of a foundation course, secondary school qualification, or Certificate IV or higher-level qualification
